📖 Chapter Four: Growing Together

"Just as no bee can build a thriving colony alone, lasting change happens when people work together. Every garden planted, every hive built, every reclaimed board, every song shared, and every helping hand becomes part of a stronger, healthier community."

♻️ Sustainable Materials Exchange

Connecting farmers, artists, educators, builders, and conservationists by giving useful materials a second life while reducing waste and strengthening community.

🌾 Sustainable Materials

Connecting growers and makers through natural fibers, wood, wax, seeds, plants, and other sustainable materials.

🐝 Pollinators

Supporting beekeepers, pollinator habitat, honey bee education, research, and conservation.

🎨 Arts & Traditional Crafts

Celebrating basket weaving, fiber arts, woodworking, fused glass, ceramics, natural dyes, and heritage skills.

🎵 Music & Media

Bringing together musicians, choirs, songwriters, filmmakers, photographers, public radio, public television, and storytellers to inspire pollinator conservation through the arts.

Urban Evergreen Bee Sanctuary is creating a Sustainable Materials Exchange to connect growers, makers, educators, beekeepers, and conservation-minded community members.

This new project helps people find and share natural materials such as rye straw, willow, flax, reeds, beeswax, native plants, seeds, herbs, flowers, wood, and other sustainable resources used in traditional crafts, pollinator education, farming, habitat restoration, and art.

Our goal is to strengthen the connection between sustainable agriculture, pollinator conservation, traditional handcrafts, and community education.

Why It Matters

Many traditional crafts and sustainable practices depend on natural materials that can be difficult to find. At the same time, many farmers, gardeners, and beekeepers have valuable materials that could support artists, educators, and conservation projects.

The Sustainable Materials Exchange helps bring these people together while supporting pollinator-friendly agriculture, local resilience, environmental education, and creative reuse.

Join the Sustainable Materials Exchange

We are building a community of growers, beekeepers, artisans, educators, and conservation organizations who believe in the value of sustainable natural materials and pollinator-friendly practices. Join us as we create connections that strengthen local communities, preserve traditional skills, and support a healthier environment.

If you grow, harvest, sell, teach with, or create using sustainable natural materials, we would love to hear from you.

Please contact us to be added to the interest list or to share what materials, skills, or resources you may have available.
